Welcome to Faelan. Book 1: The Ogre of Faelan

The Fae live in a territory whose boundaries are non-static, the ingress and egress depending entirely on the collective mind of the Fae. That the fluctuation in Faelan's borders creates temporal overlappings onto other Worlds of Sanctuary, allowing beasts and unsavory creatures into their realm, is of no concern to them. In Faelan, the Fae rule. Their rule is absolute, no one challenges them. The Fae also, at times, grant Sanctuary, according to the laws in the Worlds of Sanctuary, to those looking for relatively safe harbour. One such place is the Ogre’s territory.

The Ogre, granted Sanctuary by the Fae for the preservation of Sleeping Beauty, has over time created a Brambled Hedge around his lands. Not many come and go through the bramble, though there’s a few know the way. It's spikes and thorns serve their purpose keeping out greedy souls looking for rumored wealth and beauty. However, when the way is difficult, there are those determined to see for themselves what lies beyond. They would have been rather disappointed if they had lived to find out. Like most places ruled by a crumbling mind, the castle, its people and territory exist in a rather dilapidated and cluttered state.  Those who still have their sanity intact try to make it better for others but all are stuck dealing with the debris and detritus of a fallen mind.

As there are Worlds in Sanctuary that are highly developed in the technical arena, and there is often movement between Worlds, some of that technology has found its way into Faelan. The Ogre would never approve but there are some of his people in possession of such technology and it is by this means that the author, when away from Faelan, gets info for her posts. The original posts were distributed on Facebook as the only means available at the time. The limit of 420 characters per post greatly influenced the language and design of the posts. That shifts a little as the story moves from FB to the blog world.
